This 2,100 sq. ft. shingle style exterior with craftsman touches was designed to achieve near Net Zero energy use. The 3kW roof-mounted solar array offsets the heating and cooling via the super-efficient electric heat pumps from Mitsubishi. A heat pump hot water heater completes the fossil-fuel-free package. The house achieved a 5-Star Energy rating from Energy Star Homes. Features include a standing seam roof with solar array and timbered porch, a great room with dining nook, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and an open floor plan that takes advantage of eastern and southern exposures and provides sweeping views over Middlebury to the Green Mountains. Designed for primarily 1-story living, with extra bedrooms and a bath on the lower level. Includes an attached 2 car garage with attic storage.
