This is 2,800 sq. ft. high-performing house is designed for future attached garage and office. We call this a Near-Zero home because of the overall energy efficiency. A supplemental high-efficiency Stuv wood-burning stove provides a substantial amount of the total heating requirements. Design features include super-insulated building envelope, triple-glazed windows and doors, and geothermal heating and cooling. The future addition of roof-top solar on house and garage will yield the house a Net-Zero home in overall energy requirements. The traditional vernacular form is punctuated by many modern design elements, including custom stairs and steel railings, custom walnut veneer cabinetry, modern timber-frame entry, polished concrete, and stunning tile work.
