Underhill Modern
ARCHITECT: Elizabeth Herrmann Architecture + Design
Contemporary home in rural Vermont. Heated and cooled by electric cold climate heat pumps, with a wood stove back up. This house is considered “tight” at less then 500 CFM/50 and is Efficiency Vermont 2.0 Certified. Using dense pack cellulose fiber insulation, the double framed roof gives the house the benefit of a “cold” roof and extra ability for diffuse moisture. Exterior cladding is a mix of charred cypress and sine-wave metal.
