Warren Net Zero
ARCHITECT: Maclay Architects ; PHOTOS: Lindsay Selin Photography and Jeremy Gantz
This house is a Net-Zero family retreat situated high above Warren Village; from this spot it captures stunning views across to the slopes of Sugarbush. The main house is a 2,000 sq. ft. gable structure connected to a detached garage with living suite above. A roof solar array off sets the electrical consumption of the mechanical systems for whole house operation. The exterior is all black steel with a large Ipe deck for gathering and hot tub soaking. The vaulted main level is a bright, soaring space with exposed blackened steel trusses and a full gable wall of glass framing the mountain views. A small loft site above the kitchen, and a custom steel and oak stair, leads to the bedroom spaces at the walkout lover level.
